Donations for 2020

2020 is the 8th installment of Lighting Hearts Lighting Home. With the continued support of donors this year as we received $147,519.91 in cash, cheques and vouchers through pledge cards, Give.Asia  towards LHLH 2020.

As a project under Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore) and upon closing of collections of donations for LHLH 2019, we received a 40% matching grant of $59,007.96 from Singapore Tote Board on the donations collected.

With the donations and funding, we collectively raised a total of $206,527.87.

Usage of funds from 2020 Donations

Unlike previous years, Lighting Hearts Lighting Homes was able to reach out to more beneficiaries this year. With the support of donors and partnership with Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore), we were able to increase the amount of cash angpow to accompany the goodie bags.

 

A total of 1,538 Angpows disbursed to Households/Beneficiaries – $184,560

Courier delivery charges for Cookies to beneficiaries –  $421.00

100 Angpows to Eurasian Association –  $12,000.00

662 Bento sets for LHLH Annual Christmas Party Lunch –  $3,177.60

Support TTSH Home Ventilation & Respiratory Support Service Xmas show  – $200.00

Purchase of essentials for Red Cross Disable Home –  $622.63

Expenses incurred for delivery of bottles to homes of volunteers for baking of cookies – $244.50

Expenses incurred for fund raising – $74.37

Purchase of motorised wheelchair for a chronically ill beneficiary  – $1,300

Grand Total of Expenditure for LHLH 2020 – $202,600.10

 

Balance LHLH 2020 fund of $37,521.44 were transferred to Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home Singapore. 

RMBH will use the monies deemed fit for their regular food ration programs for needy families and migrant workers. They will also use the funds for other purposes in aid of the less fortunate during this Covid 19 pandemic times and beyond.

For Information: As requested by our donors, the amount of each person’s donation will be kept confidential. Surplus funds will be used to aid beneficiaries whom have come to us directly for help beyond the project’s scope.
